Slim Bawb, whose real name is Bob Pearce, made a splash with his debut CD “Ghost Dawg” in April 2005 and has since been a consistent presence in the Americana music scene. His works like “Hillbilly Fellini,” the Texas Music Academy award-winning “Calexiana,” and Grammy-nominated albums “Ain’t My Monkey” and “Rooster” showcase not only his versatility but also his commitment to the craft of music.
Before setting roots in Texas, Bawb was the heart and soul of the Sacramento-based band “The Beer Dawgs,” a group that enjoyed a 20-year run and secured their place in the Sacramento Area Music Hall of Fame in 1998. The Beer Dawgs, known for their unique fusion of swamp, rock, and blues, released 10 CDs and still thrill fans with annual reunion shows.
After moving to Texas in 2006, Bawb built the Swamp Studio, where he continues to create and innovate. With his wife by his side, they now make their home in New Braunfels, TX, where Bawb and his current band “The Fabulous Stumpgrinders” maintain a monthly residency at the historic Gruene Hall. The band, which includes Lil Howard Yeargan on accordion, keyboards, harmonica, and vocals, and Gabe Wilson on drums, brings to life the vivid storytelling and rich musical landscapes that Slim Bawb is renowned for.
