At a very young age Will’s interest in all things sonic started him down the road to a career in Music. His introduction to music came through his family: the early influence of Jimi Hendrix from his brothers, Bluegrass, Folk and Mountain music from both his parents, and boogie woogie from his grandmother.
His love for the Blues and American Roots Music began to blossom after moving to Texas at the young age of 5. His uncle gave him a copy of “The Vaughan Brothers: Family Style” and he was hooked. He got his first SRV album shortly after, and was off into the world of Blues. He began digging deeper and deeper for the nastiest, grooviest, and raunchy sounds he could find and focused his list of influences to include Albert King, Howlin’ Wolf, Hound Dog Taylor, Elmore James, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Lightnin’ Slim, Albert Collins, Otis Rush, Little Walter, Willie Dixon, and the list GOES ON!! He sat in with bands from the time he was 11 years old and began meeting and playing with musicians in the San Antonio Blues scene. Thanks to local SA sax legend Frank Rodarte, Will landed a weekly Friday night gig while in the 7th grade, and 3 or 4 years later landed another weekly gig and began refining his chops.
